About me Artist statementThe creation of my pieces starts with the observation of the complex relations established between phenomena as diverse as nature’s fertility, manmade objects, music or art history. It’s an intimate work in search of integrating conflicting forces, ultimately leading to the transmutation of the parts in to a transcending whole. The form contains in itself the memory of the evolution from one condition to another in a process of transformation that is at the same time natural, personal and cultural.
Beatriz CunhaBorn in Lisbon Studied History at the New University of Lisbon and Contemporary Jewellery at Ar.Co, Lisbon.Contemporary Jewellery was the start of her artistic journey in the eighties; she turned to Sculpture in the nineties.
